Course Objective

To provide teachers with a deep understanding of adolescent psychological development and equip them with effective strategies to strengthen intrinsic motivation, student engagement and emotional well-being.

Participants will explore both theoretical foundations and hands-on tools applicable to everyday classroom practice.

Course Programme

Day 1 – Student Motivation & Positive Learning Environment

Focus: Strengthening student motivation and creating a supportive classroom atmosphere.

Activities:

  • Theoretical foundations of student motivation

  • Motivation in today’s world and modern challenges

  • Internal and external motivation factors

  • Identifying early signs of declining motivation

  • Building a safe and motivating classroom environment

  • Analysis of real-life classroom situations

  • Guided tour of Vilnius Old Town (Cultural+ / All-Inclusive packages)

Learning Outcomes:

Participants understand the foundations of student motivation and can create conditions that support confidence and engagement.

Day 2 – Tools and Strategies to Increase Motivation

Focus: Applying effective classroom strategies to boost engagement.

Activities:

  • Teacher mindset and leadership style

  • Impact of teacher attitudes on student confidence

  • Active and experiential learning methods

  • Feedback strategies that sustain motivation

  • Assessment approaches that promote progress awareness

Learning Outcomes:

Participants apply practical strategies that directly increase student motivation and active participation.

Day 3 – Characteristics of Adolescent Motivation

Focus: Understanding adolescent developmental specifics.

Activities:

  • Physical, cognitive and socio-emotional development during adolescence

  • Cultivating essential life skills

  • Communication techniques for adolescents

  • Practical strategies to strengthen intrinsic motivation

Learning Outcomes:

Participants gain psychological insight into adolescent development and adapt teaching methods accordingly.

Day 4 – School Visit: Motivation in Practice

Focus: Observing motivation strategies in a real educational setting.

Activities:

  • School visit in Vilnius (exact location to be confirmed)

  • Observation of lessons and engagement techniques

  • Analysis of teaching strategies

  • Discussion with school staff

  • Reflection and sharing of best practices

  • Farewell dinner (Cultural+ / All-Inclusive packages)

Learning Outcomes:

Participants identify real-life strategies for maintaining motivation and develop ideas for implementation in their schools.

Day 5 – Cultural Learning Experience (Optional Package)

Activity:

  • Full-day excursion to Trakai

  • Visit to Trakai Island Castle

  • Cultural reflection and networking
